Its primary function is to produce a monolayer of cells onto a glass slide from any fluid suspension under the safest conditions possible. Samples are centrifuged in reusable or disposable concentrating funnels, or in concentrating funnels that include a filter material to absorb and capture suspension fluid during cytocentrifugation. The centifuge is capable of processing up to six specimens at one time.
