Advanced Microscopy Group (AMG) announced that it will distribute C-Chip, a disposable plastic hemocytometer used for manual cell/particle counting. The lightweight, scratch-proof, unbreakable design is an alternative to conventional glass hemocytometers. The Neubauer Improved grid pattern is embedded on quartz-grade optical plastic. Each pattern has nine squares each measuring 1 x 1 (mm) and a total counting area of 3 x 3 (mm). Two precision-engineered counting chambers have integrated coverslips. The design reduces the risk of contamination and exposure to potentially infectious material and eliminates cleaning and reusing.
Each C-Chip is individually packaged, featuring two enclosed chambers (100 µm depth) with separate ports for sample loading. Primary cell counting applications include hematology, tissue culture, microbiology and IVF, IUI.
AMG is a division of Westover Scientific Inc, which designs solutions for the life sciences, research and clinical industries. Products include microscopes, imaging equipment and software for a variety of applications.
