Fletcher-Flora Health Care Systems, Inc. (OTC FFLH.PK) announced the successful implementation of their FFlex eLink™ instrument integration middleware software at Huntsville Pediatric Associates in Huntsville, Alabama.

Over the last year, Huntsville Pediatric Associates implemented an Electronic Health Records (EHR) system from Noteworthy Medical Systems. Given they benefited from many added efficiencies from their IT investment, they noticed a gap in their workflow when it came to laboratory testing. Huntsville Pediatric Associates runs a hematology instrument within their practice, but because the instrument wasn’t integrated with the EHR, all of their test results had to be manually entered into the patient record. This manual effort not only slowed their process, but also required additional manual steps to check for errors. It did not take long to realize that they required additional technology to help close this gap - not necessarily a full lab information system, but a cost effective piece of software that would allow them to optimize their workflow and help them get the most out of their EHR. 

They selected Fletcher-Flora’s FFlex eLink to help accomplish this goal. FFlex eLink is a middleware solution that helps integrate otherwise standalone instruments directly to an EHR, EMR, Practice Management or other type of host system. For Huntsville Pediatric Associates, it took one week to have their staff trained, their database configured, to go live on FFlex eLink, and see immediate results. “Transmitting results directly from our instrument to the EHR via FFlex eLink immediately freed up at least 1 to 1.5 hours of our staff’s time each day,” said Robin Riggs, Practice Manager at Huntsville Pediatric Associates. “Using FFlex eLink has maximized our overall IT investment, made us more efficient and streamlined our process so we can focus more energy in providing more timely care to our patients”.
