C. difficile microplate assay

Qualitative test can be performed in less than two hours

The ProSpecT Clostridium difficile Toxin A microplate assay offers a common format with other ProSpecT enteric assays. This assay has high sensitivity and specificity, along with a low number of indeterminate results. It requires little technical expertise, can be read either visually or spectrophotometrically, and can be performed in less than 2 hours. No reagent preparation is required, and transfer pipettes are included with each kit.
     C. difficile is an opportunistic bacterial pathogen that causes gastrointestinal infections ranging from asymptomatic syndromes to severe pseudomembranous colitis that can be fatal without the proper treatment. C. difficile is the most common enteric pathogen causing nosocomial diarrhea, and has been implicated in major epidemics in hospitals and nursing homes.
