The Aptima Combo 2 Assay is a second-generation nucleic acid probe test for the qualitative detection of ribosomal RNA (rRNA) from Chlamydia trachomatis (CT) and Neisseria gonorrhoeae (GC).
     Combining multiple technologies to test for these organisms from a single specimen, the assay detects CT and GC in both symptomatic and asymptomatic males and females from either endocervical or urethral swabs as well as urine.
