Microalbumin assay
For chemistry analyzers
This company has introduced an immunoturbidimetric assay for the measurement of Microalbumin in urine. The immunoturbidimetric technology measures the increased turbidity (at 340 nm) resulting from antibody-antigen complexes formed when samples and antibody reagent are mixed. The chemistry analyzer then constructs a standard curve and calculates the patient concentrations. The ready to use liquid Microalbumin reagents are placed directly on your chemistry analyzer and yield precise quantitative results in minutes. Elevated levels of Microalbumin indicate a high probability of damage of the glomerular filtration capacity of the kidney. Microalbumin is used to follow the progression of renal disease in Type I Diabetes and Stage III, or incipient, nephropathy. It is also useful in patients with hypertension as an indicator of end organ damage associated with lower life expectancy. Microalbumin is also measured during pregnancy as a predictor of delivering preeclampsia. Kits are available in bulk or in instrument specific bottles. Application parameters are available for most chemistry analyzers. Technical field support in your laboratory is available.
