The Fluorognost HIV-1 IFA assay is an alternative to Western Blot methods as confirmation testing for HIV-1 on blood, plasma and dried blood spot samples.
The Fluorognost confirmation assay is a 90-minute procedure requiring a sample volume of 10 ul. A fluorescent microscope and an incubator (37ßC) are needed to perform the assay.
     An easy self-trained course and free proficiency test are available. The assay is available to labs that have passed the self-taught course and proficiency panel. It is also licensed for screening purposes for those labs needing low volume or STAT HIV screening testing.
