Hemoglobin analysis

Alkaline and acid methods

pn01.JPG (18058 bytes)     New 20-sample alkaline and acid hemoglobin assay kits are now available for use with this company’s SPIFE analyzer, which features automated sample application, separation and staining.
Separations with SPIFE Alkaline Hemoglobin mimic classic cellulose acetate and are used for detecting hemoglobinopathies. This automated method offers advantages over manual techniques. Acid blue stain provides excellent sensitivity and linearity. Precise temperature control improves separation. Up to 20 samples can be auto-processed in 55 minutes.
SPIFE Acid Hemoglobin is a less cumbersome method than conventional citrate agar for characterizing hemoglobinopathies. The use of acid blue stain brings linearity not available with O-Tolidine or O-Dianisidine based systems. Finished gels are stable in storage and will not continue to darken.
