The Encompass system uses Web browsers to provide clinical information access to physicians and clinicians in off-site locations. Lab results and lab order entry applications are available now; in the future, this product will also provide a point of access to the information suite for radiology and pharmacy.
     The Results functionality provides online access for viewing real-time results as soon as they are posted in the LIS. Providers can order or re-order a test while viewing these results. A graphing feature enables visual display of results for easier analysis, and the availability of cumulative results allows the clinician to display and track trends in a patient’s healthcare history. An alert notification signals out of range values.
     The Orders component provides online ordering of testing and tracks the status of current orders. Online tracking eliminates the need for time-consuming repetitive phone calls to the lab.
