New features for Spot software version 3.5 include an enhanced Merge Image option that now offers brightness scaling and custom positioning of merged images, so corrections for misaligned fluorescence cubes or weak dyes can be performed. The 3.5 version also includes support for the new JPEG 2000 image file format, allowing images to be compressed further with less blocky artifacts than traditional JPEG files.
     An Auto Brightness feature empowers the software to automatically adjust the Live Image exposure when the user switches objectives. The new customizable color palettes can be used to pseudo-color monochrome images as they’re being captured for greater ease of use. The 3.5 version will also allow the user to add measurements and calibration marks to zoomed images, providing greater accuracy.
