Two cardiac marker assays for low volume labs have been introduced by this company for use on its Dimension analyzers. LTNI (Troponin I) and LMMB (mass CKMB [creatine kinase-MB]). Both are STAT (short turnaround time) cardiac markers that are frequently employed as critical elements in diagnosing myocardial infarction; cardiac markers become elevated when heart damage has occurred in patients experiencing chest pain. The specially packaged Flexassays make these key markers available in a cost-effective manner for the smaller laboratory.
     The assays are designed for use on the Dade Behring Xpand HM instrument found in many low-volume laboratories. The new smaller packaging sizes enable lower-volume labs to provide these critical cardiac markers on the same testing platform as other STAT chemistry assays, which reduces labor and provides faster turnaround times for Emergency Departments.
