This company has received FDA clearance for two formats of its one-step assay for the qualitative detection of MDMA (Ecstasy) in urine.
     The Instant-View cassette and the Instant-View test strip are one-step lateral flow chromatographic immunoassays intended to provide qualitative rapid detection of methylenedioxymethamphetamine in human urine at a cut-off concentration of 500ng/ml.
     This test is a competitive binding immunoassay. If an adequate sample is introduced but the MDMA in the specimen is below the cutoff value, a solid burgundy line will appear. If the control line appears but the test line is absent, it means that MDMA in the urine sample has bound to the pad, and the result is positive.
     The kits are stored at room
temperature.
