This company has launched the Synchron LXi 725 clinical system, which combines chemistry analysis with immunoassay testing, innovative data management and automated sample handling on a single platform.
The system features 146 chemistry and immunoassay tests and parallel processing technology, which allows both immunoassay and chemistry testing to be performed at the same time for maximum efficiency. One sample tube may be loaded for both chemistry and immunoassay testing.
The Synchron LXis dual-processing ability enables it to perform a basic metabolic panel in less than two minutes, while a critical troponin I test result can be delivered in about 14 minutes. Chemistry throughput is up to 1,440 tests per hour. Immunoassay throughput is up to 100 tests per hour.
The Synchron LXi 725 features closed-tube sampling (CTS) technology for chemistry tests and closed-tube aliquotting (CTA) for immunoassay tests, allowing lab technologists to load sample tubes on the instrument without de-capping them, improving efficiency, reducing worker exposure to biohazards and repetitive motion injuries, and decreasing risk of patient sample contamination or cross-contamination errors.
Through the use of the Synchron LXi725's serum indices feature, which is an automated, polychromatic analysis on diluted, reagent-free samples, the instrument can detect substances that might interfere with accurate testing. Its clot detection device can identify clots in samples that might lead to erroneous results if left undetected.
