Compact benchtop hematology analyzer
5 part diff blood cell counter with 80 sample per hour throughput added to Pentra line
The Pentra 80 offers a throughput of 80 samples per hour in a 33 x 23 footprint using the scalable technology of this companys Pentra line. It can be used as a stand-alone analyzer or integrated with other Pentra hematology instruments using the Hemalink Data Management system. The Pentra 80 provides 5 part differential analysis with automatic sample handling, a touch screen monitor and intuitive software. Its automated rack loading has a 100 tube capacity. The analyzer performs end-over-end rotation of tubes prior to sampling for optimal sample homogenization and result quality. Micro-sampling requires volumes of only 30µl for CBC and 53µl for CBC+Diff. Platelet counting is linear to 2.8 million for platelet concentrates. The Pentra 80 has no compressor, does not use pinch valves, and has minimal tubing. A patented sample dispensing mechanism pipettes sample into mixing chambers, and so eliminates the need for sheer valve sample-splitting. Stepper-motors, patented membrane valves, and syringes are used to enhance pipetting accuracy and reduce routine maintenance and service requirements. All analyzers in the Pentra range share identical technology assuring parity of normal and panic ranges and ease of staff training. ABX www.CLPmag.com Keywords: hematology
