Mini K3 EDTA
For pediatric lead level determination
This company received clearance from the FDA for its plastic MiniCollect K3 EDTA tubes to be used in determining pediatric lead levels. As a means for the collection of capillary blood specimens, it is the first low volume blood collection system to gain clearance for lead level determination. The MiniCollect K3 EDTA tubes are available in 0.25, 0.5, and 1.0mL draw sizes and are 11x40 mm in size. The K3 EDTA readily mixes with the sample and does not interfere with test results. The new collection tubes nest in a 13x75mm carrier tube to allow the application of laboratory bar codes. The tubes are designed to fit into typical laboratory rack storage systems. A flat bottom also allows the tubes to stand up on their own. Graduation marks have been added to the tube to increase user performance. All MiniCollect tubes feature a proprietary closure that acts like a valve, allowing the user to collect specimens without having to remove the cap.
