Plastic blood bank tube

Contains K3 EDTA

pn24.jpg (10011 bytes)This company has expanded its line of virtually unbreakable plastic blood collection tubes to include a new blood bank tube. The tube is designed for use in grouping, typing, screening and cross-matching of blood specimens.
The product contains the additive K3 EDTA, which binds calcium ions and blocks the coagulation cascade without affecting test results. The readily soluble dry powder additive produces a final concentration of 1.8mg/ml of blood after the draw. The distinctive pink-capped tubes are clearly distinguishable from other Vacuette tubes. The tubes are available in a 13x100mm size and have a fill volume of 6 ml with a twist cap closure.
The Vacuette line of plastic tubes is compatible with existing equipment without affecting procedures or performance. They are designed to provide equivalent results while improving safety and reducing overall cost when compared with glass tubes.
