This company has introduced Poly stat hCG Serum/Urine point of care test, a one-step pregnancy test in cassette format for the detection of hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) in serum or urine. Results can be read as early as 30 seconds (for a strong positive) and requires only 4 minutes to confirm negative.
     The hCG cassette test is a 2 line cassette test, with one line for a patient result and one line for the control result. The control line is a procedural control which assures the operator that the sample addition and migration through the device has occurred and that the antibodies are intact and functional. A positive result shows 2 lines and a negative result shows one line. This test has a sensitivity of 20 mIU/mL. The test result is clear and there is no background interference.
