NeedleZap® from E Med Future Inc is a new safety device that completely disintegrates hypodermic needles. When a hypodermic needle is inserted into the unit, the patented electrode system disintegrates the needle at 2,200°F in approximately 2 seconds, leaving the syringe intact. The unit operates easily with one hand. This one-handed technique is a critical safety feature since the majority of accidental needlesticks occur to the opposite hand.

    NeedleZap accommodates a variety of needle sizes without adjustment: 16 to 30 gauge and needles up to 2 inches in length. The unit operates on low-voltage, rechargeable batteries with either an AC or DC charger. Up to 100 needles can be disintegrated without recharging.
