The AggRecetin® brand of ristocetin sulfate contains in excess of 90% of ristocetin A and is intended for use in the detection of von Willebrand’s disease, the quantitation of the von Willebrand factor, and the identification of Bernard-Soulier syndrome. In the presence of the von Willebrand factor, AggRecetin induces the agglutination of platelets in platelet-rich plasma or in standardized fixed-platelet suspensions.
     AggRecetin is packaged in a bulk quantity of 100 mgs per vial. It may be stored at room temperature for 2 years from the date of manufacture. When reconstituted, AggRecetin is stable for 7 days stored at 2° to 8°C or may be frozen at –20°C for up to 8 weeks for longer-term storage.
