Stereotaxic Instrument

Automatically senses the angle of entry

productThe new patent pending BenchMARK Digital Angle One stereotaxic instrument automatically senses the angle of entry and provides coordinates allowing researchers to complete surgery from different angles and still reach the same target point each time. It is designed to eliminate the need to perform surgeries straight down and to make arbitrary angular surgeries simple and easy.
The Digital Angle One stereotaxic instrument features an LCD display panel box that contains a number and zeroing button for each of the three linear axes and the two angle measurements. Angle transducers will continuously display the angle position, which will be zeroed once at the vertical position. A set of scrolling buttons that move up and down are used to enter the target reference coordinates on the three linear axes displays. These numbers are stored and saved until the next surgery and can be reset simply by pressing a button. Once these numbers are set, a mode button switches the numbers from the target coordinates in the reference frame to new target coordinates in the tilted, nonorthogonal frame. As the probe is moved toward the intended target, the LCD displays count down to zero. Once zero is reached, the probe/electrode track is in line to hit the target.
The BenchMARK Digital Angle One instrument features a narrower profile than standard stereotaxic units, allowing for space efficiency. It was also designed with rounded corners to eliminate scratches on laboratory counters.
