Web-Based LIS System
For customized results reporting and real-time instrument interface monitoring
MODU-LIS II offers a Web-based reporting and ordering system that can be used as part of the total LIS system or as a stand-alone accessory to any other LIS system. The Web-based server communicates with any LIS or HIS via HL7 interface protocol to bring real-time clinical results to physicians in most clinical environments. Physicians have access to laboratory information from a home or office desktop computer by way of the Internet or from within the hospital through wireless communications and use of a PDA. The MODU-LIS II can be delivered as a complete system or as a front-end Web-based solution for hospitals and clinics that may not have the time or budget to change their current systems but want the benefits of Web and wireless access for their laboratories. The systems open architecture allows the laboratory to choose a hardware platform so the system is not locked into a single vendors proprietary hardware or operating system. The Unix®/Linux operating system platform gives customers software portability, compatibility with various hardware platforms, and a high degree of security. Graphical User Interface (GUI) applications allow the user to easily navigate through the system. The MODU-LIS II offers customized results reporting, real-time instrument interface monitoring, stringent quality control checks, and specimen handling. Modulus Data Systems www.CLPmag.com
