The Direct Hemoglobin A1c Assay offers direct measurement of HbA1c and a single channel for automated systems. By eliminating the need for performing a second assay (total hemoglobin) on a second channel of the analyzer, the additive error resulting from that second assay is eliminated, providing greater accuracy and precision. The automated method also eliminates the need for a dedicated analyzer, reducing capital expenditures and labor costs while increasing productivity. HbA1c assays are performed along with routine chemistry testing. Kits are available in 150- or 400-test sizes.
