IG Parameter
For automated counting and numerical reporting of immature granulocytes
The IG (immature granulocyte) parameter on the Sysmex XE-2100 Automated Hematology Analyzer has been cleared by the Food and Drug Administration for automated counting and numerical reporting of immature granulocytes. The identification of immature granulocytes is primarily of importance in the diagnosis of infectious and inflammatory diseases. The IG parameter provides a quantitative immature granulocyte count for metamyelocytes, myeloctyes, and promyelocytes via detection in the XE-2100s Differential Channel. The Differential Channel uses Sysmexs patented Fluorescent Flow Cytometry technology. This patented technology, used to separate white blood cells into distinct cell clusters, reduces WBC differential procedures, reduces false positives without increasing false negatives through customized flagging, and improves turnaround time of results.
