Pointe Scientific offers direct determination of HbA1c on routine chemistry analyzers using a single channel methodology. When using the reagent, a separate channel for the determination of a total hemoglobin fraction for the sample is not necessary.
     Competitive binding is included in a first reaction step, which allows the HbA1c to be directly determined for the turbidity that develops after the addition of an antihuman HbA1c during the second reaction.
The reagent has a 12-month shelf life and preparation time is minimal, requiring only preparation of a hemolysate from packed cells.
