The WindSum software program, a Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP tabulation application, converts the numeric keys of a PC keyboard into a user-defined counter. The program is suited for use in medical laboratories where manual counts, such as blood cell differentials, are performed. The program is compatible with USB number-pad attachments, enabling laptop computers to be converted into portable counters.
     Three number-pad keyboard mappings, such as blood cell differential, bronchioalveolar lavage differential, and mitotic figure count, are included with the program. Additionally, custom keyboard mappings can easily be created and saved for reuse and results can be printed or pasted into other documents or systems.
