LimsLinkCDS adds new menu items to the TotalChrom interface that allow the analyst to access the laboratory information management system (LIMS) from within the CDS application. Access to the menus is controlled by the TotalChrom security system, eliminating the need for a separate log on to use the interface. LIMS work lists can be selected directly from within TotalChrom so analysts can view and edit them. The final TotalChrom sequence can be approved by the analyst before being transferred directly to the CDS.
     Configuration of the LimsLinkCDS-TotalChrom interface consists of drop-down menus and check boxes with TotalChrom terminology. Analysts can store individual interfacing configurations and automatically predefine paths and names for sequences and results, reducing the amount of analyst interaction at run time.
