Preservative Reagent
In a vacuum blood collection tube
The Cyto-Chex BCT is intended for the collection and preservation of venous blood for immunophenotyping by flow cytometry, including monitoring of lymphocyte subsets used in the management of HIV/AIDS patients. The reagent contains a solution formulated to preserve the white blood cells in peripheral blood samples without reducing the activity of antigenic sites. Samples collected in Cyto-Chex BCT can be maintained for 7 days prior to processing and analysis by flow cytometry methods. The increase in storage time reduces the number of rejected samples due to degradation. Cyto-Chex BCT is designed to preserve peripheral blood samples so that the qualitative and quantitative leukocyte subset characteristics do not change over time. The BCT tube is a standard 5 mL draw tube, and is packaged in 6- and 25-tube configurations that allow for large and small facilities to order customized amounts. Cyto-Chex BCT does not contain aldehydes or metal salt, and is safe for direct draw. Streck Laboratories (800) 843-0912; www.streck.com
