Intended for once-a-day use, daptomycin is an antibacterial agent of a new class of antibiotics that provides a rapid bacterial antibiotic effect against MRSA and MSSA. It is a natural product that has clinical utility in the treatment of infections caused by aerobic Gram-positive bacteria, and retains potency against antibiotic-resistant bacteria.
