The radioimmunoassay for holoTC is a patented, FDA-approved test for the measurement of biologically available vitamin B12, or holotranscobalamin. Evidence has shown that low levels of B12, as detected by the test, could be associated with neurological damage and Alzheimer’s disease. Measurement of B12 using conventional assays may not detect low-level deficiency of the vitamin.
