Computer-Aided Heart-Sound Analyzer

For the identification of suspected murmurs

Zargis Medical Corp introduces its Acoustic Cardioscan, a noninvasive, portable, computer-aided heart-sound analyzer. Developed by Siemens and Zargis, the Cardioscan acquires, processes, and analyzes heart sounds and provides graphical and text results within minutes. Using Cardioscan to identify suspected murmurs through the assessment of a patient’s heart sounds, physicians are aided in determining whether further testing or specialized attention from a cardiologist is warranted. In addition, Cardioscan provides an electronic and printable record of a patient’s heart sounds, giving the physician a baseline and an additional means by which to detect and track changes over time.
