Liqui-PREP provides a complete liquid-based cytology system for the processing of clinical specimens, including gynecologic, fine-needle aspirates, sputum, urine, and bronchial washings. The system relies on standard laboratory equipment, such as a centrifuge, vortex, and pipettors, enabling specimens to be transported in a non-hazmat preservative solution. The kit comes with preservative solution for specimen collection and transport, cleaning solution to remove blood, mucus, and cellular debris, and cell base that provides cellular adhesion to any microscope slide.
     Liqui-PREP reagents are compatible with reflex testing with either molecular or immunocytochemistry-based procedures. The assay’s design allows the laboratory to optimize cellular density on the slides for optimal screening and interpretation. The system is available in a variety of packaging options based upon clinical needs, and all reagents are formulated as non-hazmat to reduce transport costs and convenient disposal.
