A full panel of assays from Beckman Coulter is available for detecting and monitoring amphetamines, cocaine, marijuana, opiate, PCP, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, methadone, methaqualone, proxyphene, and alcohol. The entire panel of tests is available on the company’s SYNCHRON LX® and SYNCHRON CX® series chemistry systems.
     The panel’s amphetamine screen is sensitive to 3-4 methylenedioxymethamphetamine (Ecstasy). In addition to Ecstasy, the test can detect an array of methamphetamines and amphetamines that are commonly abused and can cause addiction. The alcohol reagent, which allows the use of serum, plasma, treated whole blood, and urine sample types has an analytical range of 5 to 600 mg/dL.
