ESR System

Features built-in safety features

The Sedi-Rate™ is designed to offer a safe, economical, and accurate method for performing ESR determinations. The polystyrene Sedi-Rate pipette features a fibrous plug located at the zero mark that is specifically designed to be a self-sealing aerosol barrier for hazardous substances escaping through the top of the pipette.
The polypropylene Sedi-Rate vial features a self-sealing stopper that is easily pierced and is prefilled with 0.25 mL of 3.8% trisodium citrate diluent. The user adds 1 mL of EDTA-treated blood to the indicator line on the vial and inserts the pipette through the pierceable stopper to the bottom of the vial. This causes the blood to automatically rise into the pipette to the zero mark. The test unit is then placed in an ESR rack, and the results are read after 1 hour from the imprinted scale on the pipette.
