Blood Collection Tubes

For molecular diagnostic testing

Greiner Bio-One Preanalytics has expanded its line of safety blood collection products for molecular diagnostic tests with the addition of its K2 EDTA and K2 EDTA with gel blood collection tubes. The tubes are FDA-cleared for use in molecular diagnostic methods such as polymerase chain reaction where an undiluted plasma specimen is required as determined by the laboratory. Tests for HIV and HCV viral load are two examples of molecular tests that can be performed on undiluted plasma specimens produced by these tubes. The tubes perform in a variety of molecular application methods with broad utility for a number of analytes.

The interior of K2 tubes are coated with EDTA at a concentration of 1.8 mg/µL of blood when properly filled. The K2 EDTA tube has a lavender top and label, and is available in sizes from 2 µL to 9 µL. The K2 EDTA gel tube is available in a 5 µL size with a white cap and label.
