The Abbott m1000™ sample preparation system is an automated, stand-alone nucleic acid extractor that can be used to purify and extract RNA and DNA from patient samples using magnetic particle technology. The system provides high throughput, fully automated sample preparation, the use of primary bar-coded tubes, and is capable of processing 48 samples in 2 hours for a 1µL sample volume. The m1000 features an open mode, which allows for customization of protocol for specific laboratory needs. The system is designed to be a flexible, modular, nucleic acid sample preparation system to meet the demanding specifications of the molecular laboratory.
