Chemistry System

Features a high-sensitivity C-reactive protein

Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics is now manufacturing and marketing Dade Behring’s high sensitivity assay for the assessment of cardiovascular risk. The high-sensitivity C-reactive protein is expected to be part of an additional twenty new MicroTip™ assays, along with the complete MicroSlide™ assay menu, that are targeted for availability on Ortho-Clinical Diagnostic’s VITROS® 5,1 FS Chemistry System.

The VITROS 5.1 FS system supports the new VITROS MicroTip™ reagents, which provide an extended menu of chemistry and immunoassay methods. MicroTip technology eliminates the maintenance and cost associated with water, plumbing, drains, fixed probes, and mixing assemblies. In addition, the VITROS 5.1 FS integrates as many as 80 routine and special chemistry assays onboard through the use of intelligent parallel processing. MicroTip technology will eliminate sample and reagent carryover that may occur with sample probes and reusable cuvettes.
