Blood Bank Tubes

For immunohematology

The K2 EDTA and K3 EDTA blood bank tubes have been cleared for use in immunohematology testing where red cells and plasma are needed for such tests as ABO grouping, Rh typing, DAT, antigen phenotyping, antibody screening, and antibody identification. The K2 tube’s interior is coated with a powdered EDTA, and the K3 tube is coated with a liquid EDTA solution. The EDTA binds calcium ions, thus blocking the coagulation cascade. The concentration is approximately 1.8 mg/mL of blood when the tube is filled to its correct volume.
