Lipoprotein Cholesterol Assay Kit

For quantitative determination of HDL-C in serum

productThe L-Type HDL-C assay from Wako Diagnostics is based on an immunoinhibition and shows good correlation with the reference methods. Antihuman ß-lipoprotein antibody in Reagent 1 binds to lipoproteins other than HDL. The antigen antibody complexes formed block enzyme reactions when Reagent 2 is added. Cholesterol esterase and cholesterol oxidase in Reagent 2 react only with HDL-C. Hydrogen peroxide produced by the enzyme reacts with HDL-C to yield a blue color complex upon oxidase condensation with PDAOS and 4-aminoantpyrine in the presence of peroxidase. By measurement of the blue color complex produced, the sample’s HDL-C concentration can be quantified.
The kit does not show interference from coexisting substances, and it is convenient with ready-to-use reagents. Stability and a high degree of linearity add to the assay’s benefits. Additionally, the L-Type HDL-C assay can be automated on a laboratory’s existing clinical chemistry instrumentation.
