The BIOMIC V3 from Giles Scientific automates the reading of commercial ID panels such as the RapID™, API®, Crystal™, and CHROMagar™ with color digital-imaging technology. The system improves the consistency, accuracy, and speed of reading ID panels compared to manual reading. The BIOMIC V3 system also reads and interprets standard disk-diffusion testing with a 2005 CLSI (NCCLS)-based expert system. Additional features include two-way LIS interfacing, a touch-screen monitor, rapid batch reading, and bar-coding.
