Galileo is a fully automated blood bank instrument that offers Instant AccessTM, a broad test menu and reflex testing coupled with a quick turnaround time, high throughput, and real-time results. Users can load samples, reagents, or supplies at any time without disrupting tests already in progress. Galileo’s broad test menu includes blood typing, antibody screening, antibody identification with extended cell panels, donor confirmation, cross-match, DAT, and weak D testing.
     Two technologies are utilized by the system for optimum performance: hemagglutination is used for blood typing, donor confirmation, and immediate spin crossmatch; while ImmucorGamma’s Capture solid phase technology is used for antibody screening, antibody identification, DAT, Weak D, and IgG cross-match. Accurate test results are achieved with full process controls throughout the entire testing process.
