The MESACUP test PR-3 assay aids in the diagnosis of certain systematic vasculitides, such as Wegener’s granulomatosis. PR-3 is the major target antigen for autoantibodies testing positive by immunofluorescence for cytoplasmic antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies pattern type. Results are expressed as quantitative values, U/mL, allowing change in anti-PR3 levels to be monitored.
