The Quantimetrix Cardiasure™ now includes three new analytes—C-Reactive Protein (CRP), L-Homocysteine, and Digoxin—as well as new laboratory-reference ranges being updated to levels 1, 2, 3, and 4. CRP and L-Homocysteine are effective markers for diagnosing heart attacks when elevated cholesterol or other traditional risk factors are absent. Digoxin was added to help laboratories monitor dosage since it is often prescribed to treat congestive heart failure. Cardiasure is compatible with most major chemistry analyzers, including AxSYM®, ACS:180®, Access®, Advia®, Centaur, Dimension®, Elecsys®, Hitachi®, Stratus®, and Synchron®. It is packaged in a dropper-tip plastic bottle for ease of use.
