ESR STAT™ PLUS’ features have been expanded to include a triggerless bar-code reader to speed sample processing and eliminate patient-identification errors. The ESR STAT PLUS requires 25 mL of EDTA blood and provides three patient results in 4 minutes. Both laboratory personnel and emergency-department personnel find the sample volume and speed helpful in reducing report-outs as quantity not sufficient and in improving turnaround time. The ESR STAT PLUS uses an analysis tube that meets all current laboratory safety standards.
