The 1µL dotMETRIC™ nucleic assay requires no additional expensive equipment. One µL of the nucleic acid sample is mixed with the dilution buffer supplied with each kit. Users apply 1 µL of the solution to the test strip, which develops in 2 minutes in the form of a circular spot. The spot’s diameter is proportional to its concentration. By measuring the spot’s diameter using the dotMETRIC™ scale that is supplied with each kit, users can determine the concentration of DNA, RNA, oligo, and plasmids. Each kit has a shelf life of 1 year at room temperature. Additionally, it is supplied with an optional spot-application device for increased reproducibility and test reliability. The spot-application device allows the application of samples using fixed-volume capillary tips, which simplifies the application of one or more samples and improves reliability of results.
