Abbott Diagnostics offers a broad range of laboratory tests for drug monitoring. The TDxFLx is a compact benchtop instrument that provides several assays for drug monitoring such as carbamazepine, digoxin, gentamicin, phenytoin, phenobarbital, theophylline, and vancomycin, using FPIA methodology. It is suitable for small laboratories and physicians’ offices. For medium to large hospital and reference laboratories, the AxSYM Plus provides an extensive test menu with 24 popular assays for therapeutic drug monitoring, drugs of abuse, and toxicology. Large-volume laboratories that require higher assay throughput are an excellent fit for the ARCHITECT c8000 and the AEROSET chemistry systems, which both offer a standard menu of TDM and DOA assays. The c8000 and AEROSET assay menus will double from the current menu to more than 30 in 2006.
