Upfront Automation for Microbiology

For preparing cultures from urine samples

InocuLAB automates the setup task associated with preparing microbiological cultures from urine samples, including opening and recapping the specimen container, inoculating and streaking the media plates, automatically printing a bar code, and stacking the plates ready for incubation—making it a hands-free, walkaway operation. InocuLAB can also be quickly re-configured to operate in “Media Streaking Mode” for all other specimen types such as swabs and stools, using a familiar but customizable four-quadrant streak pattern. Automated inoculating and streaking has many advantages, including reducing workload and hiring costs. It allows the processing of increasing specimen volumes without staff increases. Additionally, InocuLAB aids in the reduction of carpal tunnel strain injuries. Since every plate is now streaked exactly the same, reading the InocuLAB streaked media is easier, with more accurate results and less possibility of errors and delays due to reworking specimens.
