Novovision Inc’s NovoPath™ v6.01 for anatomic pathology will be available in June. This enhancement to the NovoPath anatomic pathology laboratory information system software is designed to benefit lab personnel, pathologists, billing personnel, client services, and information-technology specialists.
     For lab personnel who must remember to order additional tests, NovoPath v6.01 now includes a comprehensive automated reflex testing module so that HPV or other molecular-pathology tests are ordered automatically. The expanded treatment of synoptic reporting, special stains, and stain panels request handling makes it possible to deliver concise and accurate cancer reporting to pathologists quickly and easily. For billing personnel, the automated and accurate CPT and ICD-9 code capture in NovoPath v6.01 means that the laboratory can focus more on delivering the best patient care and focus less on capturing appropriate codes. For laboratories processing their own billing, NovoPath v6.01 now offers a full A/R billing module.
     NovoPath v6.01 introduces a requisition batch-scanning module to automatically scan requisitions in batches with their appropriate accession numbers. It includes an enhanced client manager specifically geared toward laboratories with layered client relationships. Special client preferences—such as including a photomicrograph or not—and any notes related to an account are captured in the enhanced client manager.
     NovoPath v6.01 also offers security management at the operating-system level for easier and more robust administration. Individual user permissions can be set to limit access to specific data-entry fields. Remote connectivity from multiple locations is transparently tracked.
