RNA Medical® has introduced the QC HGB Hemoglobin Control, an assayed quality-control material for monitoring the performance of Hemocue B-Hemoglobin Analyzers. QC HGB, a solution of unfixed stabilized human erythrocytes, is available in three levels (low, normal, and high). It is provided in dropper bottles that contain 3.0 mL of solution. Bottles are packaged in boxes, which are available in single-level (six bottles of the same level) or multilevel (two bottles of each level) configurations.

Unopened bottles of QC HGB have a 24-month shelf life from the date of manufacture when stored refrigerated (2ÞC to 8°C). After opening, the bottles may be stored for 30 days at room temperature (up to 25°C) or 60 days refrigerated. A peer statistical program (PeerQC) is available to QC HGB users, and it has online data submission and reporting options in real time.
