Miscellaneous SuppliesComfort ShieldDisposable face protection
K Medical Inc, Fort Lauderdale, Fla, has created an alternative to hard plastic visors and goggles. The Comfort Shield consists of a light-weight, clear plastic reusable head frame and nose bridge that attaches to a light-weight clear plastic, disposable shield. When the shield becomes contaminated or is no longer serviceable, it can be removed from the frame and replaced, cutting costs by not necessitating replacement of the entire unit. The head frames are available in 10 colors and rest over the ears, and across the temple like a pair of eyeglasses. The shield can be custom fitted to individual users by adjusting the position of the clear plastic shield on the visor. K Medical Inc

Purosol OpticalCleaner that won’t harm lenses Origin Laboratories LLC, Pasadena, Calif, has introduced the second in its line of enzyme-based cleaning products specifically formulated for today’s advanced lenses. Purosol Optical is engineered to work on the molecular level, actually breaking the bonds that make dust, dirt, and grime adhere to the lens surface. The cleaner is specifically designed to protect high-end, multicoated lenses and other optical devices, including fashion eyewear, cameras, microscopes, telescopes, binoculars, gun sights, and CD and DVD surfaces. Unlike ordinary off-the-shelf cleaners, which are made up primarily of alcohol, ammonia, harsh solvents, and colored dye, this line of products is completely organic and environmentally safe. It is nontoxic and hypoallergenic and contains no CFCs, detergents, or solvents of any kind that can subtly eat away at porous electronic screens and strip away the crucial antiglare coatings of today’s high-priced lenses.
