Molis Wam

Integrated quality control module

Sysmex America Inc, Mundelein, Ill, has announced the release of a new version of its Molis Wam hematology information management system, which includes a new quality control (QC) module to improve laboratory efficiency and operation by consolidating patient and QC results into one data management system. It is a comprehensive hematology decision-management system for auto-validation and manual validation of rules-triggered samples. The depth of functionality is specific to the unique hematology environment and has been designed to cover all resulting and reflexing contingencies for instrument, manual differential, and smear results. The Molis Wam QC Module consolidates the review of QC from the instruments into a single view for validation in real time. The module provides the ability to monitor QC over time from one control point. The robust graphing program permits the user to superimpose up to six Levy-Jennings graphs to compare the performance of the combination of controls and instruments, and includes reports for monitoring historical quality control data.

LabWeb 8.0 and WindoPath 6.0

Working with the same powerful database

Psyche Systems, Milford, Mass, has released its latest version of LabWeb clinical LIS and WindoPath anatomic pathology system, which share a powerful MS SQL relational database designed to give laboratorians and pathologists in both departments full view of all current and historic patient results. As such, the laboratory can produce a cohesive report of all the patient’s laboratory tests, giving the clinician a more comprehensive picture of the patient’s health. Additionally, WindoPath features clinical data tables and ancillary reporting capabilities to pull results from clinical instruments used in the AP lab through bidirectional interfaces. Its Clinical Information Module gives pathologists a full view of all the clinical results associated with a particular patient from any LIS with just a click of a button, and automatically adds them to the final report. Viewing the clinical results while reviewing the pathology specimen helps the pathologist render a more refined diagnosis, and producing a more complete report helps the physician determine the best course of treatment.
